Abbsolu Ele, the best pageant training academy in India writes week after week on topics related to pageantry and personality development.
Our topic for today is not only very interesting but also very informative for all aspiring pageant women.
There’s more to pageant prep than meets the eye. The pageant bug is in the air and biting. The pageant women are ready to be on the center stage putting their best foot forward. Don’t ever think that only introduction, Q n A round, your Ramp walk and your makeup that is important but what’s more important is the confidence that you have, handling situations back stage, knowing what is going behind the scenes is of utmost importance.
There are few important things to keep in mind for you to understand the real world of pageantry.
  • Vision: It’s very important for you to believe your hard work and prep of your pageant. Manifestation is good but for that you really need to work hard to make things real. I truly understand your dream of walking tall with your stilettoes with great confidence, speaking well and wearing the crown but the reality may be a little different if you don’t study the subject well. Work every minute, visualize your success, and let that drive you towards your goal and more killer accuracy than hitting a six like M S Dhoni.
  • You are your own competition: please repeat after me: “comparison is the thief of joy”. Confidence, my dear girls, is not just a feeling but your secret weapon to winning the crown. I always say this during my lecture in class, never get scared or fear looking at any contestants, you may feel she is more taller, more prettier, more smarter. Trust me don’t ever think like that,  you are you, believe your pageant prep. Always remember if you keep comparing yourself with anyone you may not reach where you want to be.
  • Your journey is just yours, with no rewinds, repeats, or take-backs, so don’t waste your energy comparing yourself to others rather, embrace your unique qualities, showcase your strengths and remember there is only one YOU.
  • Relationship building: In one of the interview of Sushmita Sen our former Queen said beautifully, people will never remember what you wore, what your hairstyle looked like and what was your makeup but only thing they will remember is how you treated others and how humble you were. So be good to everyone, make new friends, you also never know what opportunity knocks your door.
  • Selecting the right coach: Your coach knows you best, what’s your potential and how to use it to the fullest. Choose a coach who understands the ins and outs and ups and downs of the pageantry world, has a track record that can put Seabiscuit to shame and believes in your one of a kind potential.
  • The backup dress and stilettoes: Always keep a backup ready, you never know what’s going to give up when, especially the zip in a gown and buckle and straps of your stilettoes. Have a backup dress and stilettoes on standby because you never know what might happen backstage.
