Our topic for today is winning tips for personal introduction at the pageant.
  1. Personal introduction: Your introduction is your ticket to the next round.  Few things to keep in mind are your public speaking skills, things you need to add in your introduction are information about yourself,  your full name, age,  hobbies,  your work towards society,  your reason for being on this platform, etc. You can add any more information if you wish to. Every morning when you wake up look into the mirror and Practice your introduction a minimum of 5 times.
  2. Clear speech: Every word that you say in your introduction has to be crystal clear.  Every word must be heard with great attention and interest by the audience. This is the time you must stand out and show how confident you are.
  3. Time limit: The usual practice for the time limit is,  State: 30 seconds Nationals: 1 minute.  Once you start keep these tips in mind.
  • Practice your introduction well.
  • Know what you have to say.
  • Let your personality shine through.
  • Make eye contact with the judges.
  • Wear that you look best in, keeping pageant requirements and rules in mind.
  • Smile all through your introduction.
  • Stand up nice and tall in your pageant stance.
  • Think of a creative way to say your introduction. Make it original,  exciting, and personal.
  • Be natural,  confident, and relaxed.
  • Don’t go over your time limit

 

4. It’s not what you say but how you say: It’s very important to work on your voice modulation when it comes to introduction at the pageant. More than what you say, how you say,  how effective is your connection with judges and audience will help you clear your first important round of the pageant.

5. Great way to start: A great way to start your introduction is by first writing it down on paper,  get all your ideas out there. Decide on what you want to say and how you want to say it. Then practice in front of family and friends who will tell you your mistakes, if there are any. This will help you to get familiar to speak in front of people.
