This blog is about my experience as a judge at many audition and pageants and also my experience as a pageant woman.
As a judge few things I am surely looking for in a pageant woman at an audition are:
- Way she’s dressed. Easiest one is a LBD( little black dress). That’s one dress that can never go wrong. Keep your body shape in mind while buying this one.
- Minimum accessories. I am witness to women wearing chandelier earrings to audition. Keep it simple, small ear studs are good, with thin bracelet and a watch should be good for audition.
- Right footwear. Nude stilletoes are best, do not waste your time on anything else.
- Signature Rampwalk. That’s what I am looking for when the contestants come for audition or they are on finale stage. Signature walk is only possible when many hours of practice goes into it.
- Fitting of every dress that you wear at the pageant is important . Clothes should never be ill fitted. Know your body shape and dress accordingly. Bodycon or fit flare dress both are good options for audition and grooming sessions at the pageant.
- Colors of gown to keep in mind while buying your pageant gown. Try keeping black away. Remember you should look like a queen when you wear it.
- Be prepared with good strong Introduction and work on questions and answers too. It only takes practice to be there.
- Be updated with current affairs. Read newspaper regularly. There are many articles in it which may help you at the Q n A round. Try not taking more than few seconds to answer once the judge asks you a question.
- Look confident. Remember there is a thin line between being confident and being over confident. Don’t ever cross that line. Judges definitely like to see confident woman but definitely not over confident.
- A judge is looking for a confident woman whose introduction is good, Q n A is good. She is well dressed, right footwear and minimum accessories.
