Social media is a DRUG

Absolu Elle,  leading pageant training and modeling academy in India writes week after week on topics related to pageantry and the modeling industry.
Today our topic is Social media. According to my, social media is nothing but a drug, one constantly keeps looking into it, uploading good,  bad pictures or any kind of news to get maximum attention.
Social media is used in the right way can be so much of a help, it’s a good place to voice your opinion. It’s good when you get on one side of any situation and stick with it. Don’t use social media to impress people; use it to impact people.
You are responsible for everything you post and it becomes a reflection of you. Social media has created jealous behavior over illusions. Sadly some are envious of things, relationships, and lifestyles that don’t even exist.
Social media is training us to compare our lives, instead of appreciating all that we are,  no wonder why everyone is always depressed. Social media is addictive precisely because it gives us something which the real world lacks. It gives us immediacy, direction, and value as an individual that’s probably we look for attention and approval from people outside.
Your worth is not measured in likes, comments, notes, or followers but in your ability to love, keep comments to yourself,  make notes, and lead. Transparency may be the most disruptive and far-reaching innovation to come out of social media.
Social media is a dangerous place to seek affirmation,  acceptance,  identity, and security. It’s good to be active on it but it is not the place to exhibit your happiness.
Be careful of people on social media who are fraudsters and are there to cheat you and make a fool of you.
Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master. Many people treat life as a constant update. It’s as if they are more concerned with how their lives look than how their lives feel.
Make sure you are happy in real life and not just on social media. Social media if possible should be used only if need be,  let it not rule your life, don’t live under that constant pressure to please people and their approval. You are the master of your own life. We live in the era of smartphones and stupid people.
Use social media for yourself and not for others. If you decide someday you don’t want to be on social media it’s perfectly fine, trust me you are not answerable to anyone.
Many more topics to be discussed on pageantry and personality development.  We will soon come with yet another interesting topic,  till then follow us on www.pageanttraining.in to know more on this subject.
